Position:	Porter – Permanent Part-Time
Hours of work	8 - 11:30 am, 12:15 pm - 7:15 pm, 27 hours bi-weekly

Core Functions:

The primary function of this position is ensuring that resident meal service is performed in a pleasant and efficient manner, in compliance with department and MOH standards. As well, after meal service periods assists with ware washing operations and other assigned cleaning responsibilities. Physically challenging position requiring that the successful incumbent stand/walk for long periods of time. Fifty percent of shift involves working with a variety of cleaning solutions in a hot, humid environment as well as lifting items up to 50 pounds in weight. Other duties as assigned by Director, Support Services.

Qualifications:

• Must have Food Handlers Certificate (current)
• Must have Food Service Worker Training certificate or must be registered/enrolled in a Food Service Worker training program at an established college
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Previous food service experience desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to interact with families, residents and other team members is essential.
