HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR’S FUNDRAISING EVENTS
On Saturday April 9th, we held our first Fundraising Dinner Gala, Silent Auction & Wine Tasting with featured guest Toronto Historian, Ron Brown.
100 guests attended the event. The evening began with wine tasting and a silent auction followed by a lovely dinner served in our Main Dining Room which was elegantly decorated for the occasion.
Ron Brown’s slide presentation “100 Unusual Things to see in Ontario” was well received by the audience. He gave us some great ideas of things to see and do in our own backyard!
The event raised $16,000 which will be used towards the future development of The Wexford.

As the curtain came down on the Gala, we began to prepare for our 6th Annual Joint Golf Tournament with Nistbet Lodge, Mariann Home and Valleyview Residence. This year’s tournament was held on Wednesday June 22 at Remington Parkview Golf & Country Club.
130 golfers participated. The format was the same as last year, a shot gun start, teeing off at 9:00 am.
Our new MC Herbie Kuhn, the voice of the Toronto Raptors was very entertaining. He gave a lovely talk honouring Mark Dailey, the voice of City TV, who was our golf tournament host for the past four years. Mark passed away last year. After Herbie’s talk, we observed a moment of silence in Mark’s memory.
The tournament raised a net total of $56,000. Our share of $16,625.00 will go towards purchasing comfy chairs for each resdient’s room.
