Family Council

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Wexford Residence Family Council serves as a support group for families and persons of importance to residents.  We provide a liaison between families and staff at the Wexford to ensure good practice and care of residents as well as enhancing overall quality of life of residents.

THE PURPOSE OF THE COUNCIL:

• To share ideas for the purpose of enhancing the care of residents and ensuring they live in a supportive and nurturing environment.
• To address concerns or problems of WRFC members concerning the care of their family member
• To elevate awareness of Long Term Care policies to members with the goal of developing programs or services that could improve care of residents
• To promote wellness of both members and residents
• To maintain good communication with all levels of management at the residence
• To welcome new families and encourage both membership and participation

FLOOR REPS:

Floor Reps are posted on the family council notice board on each floor.  If none is listed, there is a vacancy and if you are interested in being a floor rep, please come to the next meeting and let us know!  The floor rep can give you any information you may need to know about the council meetings etc.  if you need the contact info of your floor rep, give us a shout.

MEMBERSHIP:

You can become a member by picking up a membership form at reception and bringing it to the next meeting.  You can also request the membership via email at THEWEXFORDFC@gmail.com

 

MEETINGS:

We hold meetings on the 2nd tuesday of every month.  Check your FC boards for the date of the next meeting.  Meetings start at 630pm and are held in the Board Room of the Wexford located on the activity level of the Wexford.  Coffee, tea and biscuits are provided.
